Overall Dodge will be putting a lot of their attention on bringing SRT back into the brand.

2014 – Charger and Challenger refreshes, but it’s not all good news. We are saying goodbye to the Dodge Avenger so that the Chrysler 200 can get more focus.

2015 – Nothing too big here with Charger SRT and Viper refreshments.

2016 – Intro of the all-new Dart and Dart SRT, all-new Journey, and the death of the beloved Grand Caravan.

2017 – The new Journey SRT debuts accompanied by a Durango refresh

2018 – Two new vehicles will emerge from the lineup, a new B-segment sedan and a hatchback along with the all-new Charger, Charger SRT, Challenger, and Challenger SRT.

As you can clearly see, the Dodge lineup big changes include some awesome new vehicles and new designs that will surely blow our minds. For now, though, we are currently carrying new Dodge and Ram models that can quench you thirst until the new ones arrive!

Dodge Avenger Discontinued after 2014 Model Year

With automakers constantly updating their lineups and rebuilding vehicles, there is a time when a vehicle is no longer made, and that time has come for a great Dodge vehicle. It is announced that after 2014 we can see the Dodge Avenger discontinued.

Chrysler, as a whole, has decided that they want to start straying away from having “sister” vehicles within different, but connecting, brands. (i.e. Dodge and Chrysler) Now, after having the Dodge Avenger discontinued, the Chrysler 200 will be able to take over as the only midsize sedan.

“There is not an Avenger version of the new 200 planned, “ confirms Kathy Graham, product PR manager for the Chrysler Group. “The 2014 MY (model year) Dodge Avenger started production in July, 2013 and is scheduled to end in Q1 2014,” she stated. (article by Stephen Elmer of AutoGuide.com)

Now that the Dodge Avenger will be out of the picture, we can expect to see a rise in other vehicles from the Dodge family, such as the Dodge Dart and Dodge Durango.

Since you are going to be running out of time to get the Dodge Avenger, make sure you stop by Corwin Dodge in Springfield, MO and take one for a test drive. You may just want to go home with the future Dodge Avenger discontinued vehicle.

2014 Dodge Dart and Avenger Earn Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safe (IIHS) runs a series of tests on vehicles across the market in order to determine how safe they are. This year the 2014 Dodge Dart and Avenger have earned a Top Safety Pick thanks to their advanced safety technology and build.

Top Safety Pick Plus ratings are not easy to receive. Each vehicle must earn a rating of “good” in four different areas: moderate-overlap frontal crash, side impact, roof strength, and whiplash. “In addition, a 2014 Top Safety Pick must rate ‘acceptable’ or bet in the IIHS’ new small-overlap front crashworthiness evaluation,” says Chrysler Media.

Dodge has been making safe vehicles for a long time, and it shows with its reputation. This marks the sixth time that the Dodge Avenger has been awarded the Top Safety Pick in the mid-size sedan category, and the Dodge Dart has been on the list for compact sedans since it came out in 2012.

Available in the Dodge Dart for safety is a lot of helpful assets including: advanced-airbag technology, ParkView back-up camera, Rear Cross Path detection, and Blind-Spot Monitoring.

2014 Dodge Dart and Avenger vehicles help to provide the kind of safety you are looking for in your next sedan. So, don’t miss out on getting an award-winning car and stop by Corwin Dodge today to go for a test drive. Let us know what you think of them in our comments box!
