When you think of the American muscle car, a few iconic models might come to mind, namely the Dodge Challenger, the Chevy Camaro, and the Ford Mustang. 2019 seems to be a great year for the Dodge Challenger. Dodge sold more units of the Challenger than Chevy did of the Camaro during the first quarter this year. That gives the model an edge over the Camaro, while coming in just behind the Ford Mustang in terms of units sold.
This triumph followed a full year of success. In 2018, Dodge sold 66,716 Challenger models. Considering these recent stats, it’s no surprise that 2019 continues to bring thriving sales for this muscle car.
As with the first quarter of 2019, sales for 2018 were also greater for the Dodge Challenger than for the Chevy Camaro. Chevrolet only sold 50,963 models of its muscle car last year, putting it in third place by the new year.
While the Dodge Challenger hasn’t reached number one just yet, records show that its sales continue to rise. If this iconic muscle car keeps delivering the impressive performances and sleek styling we’ve come to expect, we have every reason to believe that the Dodge Challenger could become the best-selling muscle car in America.
