The SRT Hellcat version of the 2015 Dodge Challenger is one of the most track-ready vehicles ever built by Dodge, and it’s got an amazing engine to match that caliber, too. The engine is a 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8, which pushes the new Challenger to 707 horsepower. Somehow, miraculously, that same engine also manages 22 mpg on the highway to boot.
All those great numbers led Ward’s Auto to include the new Challenger engine on their list of the 10 Best Engines for 2015. Another Chrysler engine, an EcoDiesel engine employed in the Ram 1500, also made the list.
“These two distinctly different engines represent the wide range of powertrain-engineering expertise and technology at Chrysler Group,” said Bob Lee, Vice President and Head of Engine, Powertrain and Electrified Propulsion Systems Engineering. “For their considerable might, they also are both highly efficient and refined – key hallmarks of Chrysler Group powertrains. Such attributes have helped power our vehicles to the top of the sales charts.”
However, both of these engines have at least one thing in common—an uncommon combination of power and efficiency. That’s the key to Dodge innovation right now: finding uncompromising ways to give customers what they want. To find what you want today, just come see us here at Corwin Dodge.
