Gas Saving Tips You Might Not Have Thought Of

Gas Saving Tips You Might Not Have Thought OfWe all know what owning a car really feels like, “Oh man I have to stop for gas again?!” (Unless of course you have decided to purchase to a hybrid or all-electric vehicle) But this isn’t the way it should have to be. There are many gas saving tips that you know the trick to, but what about some gas saving tips you might not have thought of?

Gas Saving Tips You Might Not Have Thought Of

Lose Some Weight – No, we don’t mean yourself, we mean in your vehicle! When you leave excess weight in your car it makes the engine work hard to move and, in turn, use more gas. Extra weight can be anything such as clothes, sports equipment, or bodies (just kidding!!).

Be Efficient! B-E Efficient! – While that is lame as a cheer, it makes a lot of sense! According to FuelEconomy.Gov, “Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration, and braking) wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33% at highway speeds and by 5% around town.”

Racks on Racks on Racks – Making your vehicle aerodynamic will help to use less gas. So, on your SUV remove those roof racks and rails in order to help prevent wind resistance.

Catch a Cold – it is known fact that most liquids expand in heat, and the same goes for gasoline. Try to put gas in your car in the morning. That way as the temperature rises throughout the day the gas will expand and then you will save some gas!

Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way – There are always other options than driving (depending on how far away you are). Catch a bus, ride a bike, or even walk if you want.

While you may or may not want to take our advice, Corwin Dodge just wants to remind you that gas prices are continuously on the rise, and it is going to become more and more expensive to fill up your tank.
