According to FCA, you also get your choice between the 5.-7liter HEMI V8 or the Pentastar V6. With these, you get impressive performance and fuel economy.

“Adding the Rebel Black package to an already aggressive off-road truck will continue feeding the momentum Rebel is creating for the Ram Truck brand,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The Ram Rebel is unique in the full-size truck segment with 33-inch off-road tires, air suspension and custom interior details.”

New Ram 1500 Special Editions

The Ram 1500 is a full-size pickup known for its intimidating stance and overwhelming strength but now the truck is about to turn even more heads. Fiat Chrysler is adding two new Special Edition models to the popular pickup. While they’re mostly cosmetic, the Ram 1500 Special Editions are certainly a welcome sight in the full-size truck segment.

Ram 1500 Special Editions Rebel Mojave Sand

The Ram 1500 Rebel Mojave Sand edition brings a more refined look to the pickup. The Mojave Sand paint job is exclusive to the package and costs about $600.

The exterior color goes well with the all-black interior that comes with the package. Add in the black hood stripe and gray contrast stitching for a customized look that’s sure to turn heads!

2017 Ram 1500 Special Editions Ignition Orange

Orange trucks are a thing of the past but the Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport looks to revitalize the color. The Ignition Orange Sport returns with a, you guessed it, orange paintjob with black hood graphics, black-out exterior trim, and black wheels.

The interior of the Ram 1500 Ignition Sport brings orange stitching, orange-painted trim, and orange ram’s-head logos on the headrests.

Both packages are limited to Ram 1500 models.

We here at Corwin Dodge Ram are pumped for the addition of the new Ram 1500 Special Edition packages!

New Ram Truck Brand Commercial Honors Hard-Working Everyday Heroes

Every year, Thanksgiving Day is a time for being thankful for what you have. For Ram, that means thanking the hardworking people throughout the United States. The American truck-maker showed their appreciation with a new Ram truck brand commercial called “Praise.”

This 90-second advertisement aired on Thanksgiving Day during the traditional holiday NFL football games on CBS and Fox. It honors people from all walks of life, from a single mother of three to a grandfather who has spent his entire life working in a mill. The commercial features a number of occupations and individuals throughout the 90 seconds, showcasing the variety of jobs and people employed in them throughout America.

Beyond the Commercial

At the end of the commercial, Ram encouraged viewers to show their thanks on social media using the hashtag #RamGivesThanks. This new commercial reached over 55 million viewers who watched the Thanksgiving football broadcasts. In addition to this new broadcast, Ram also acted as the Official Truck of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. For the second year, more than 25 Ram trucks towed the floats during the parade’s live broadcast on NBC.

Ram’s Market Share Sees Steady Increase

2015 Ram 1500 Rebel - Springfield, MO
When it comes to trucks, Ram is doing incredibly well these days!

The Big Three of Detroit have gone tire-to-tire time and time again, but no competition has been as heated as the one raging in the pickup market. Full-size trucks are a hotbed for profit margins, and Ram, Ford, and Chevrolet aren’t pulling any punches to take market share. Ram’s market share has grown dramatically over the years, and for good reason.

Ram has listened closely to what customers want, more so than any other automaker. Following Chrysler’s bankruptcy and merger with Fiat, Ram’s future was left uncertain. Between 2010 and 2015, the brand pulled 6% of the truck market, ground gained from Ford, Toyota, and General Motors.

Today, Ram holds 21% of the pickup market and that’s nothing to scoff at. Given the low fuel prices, specific features customers have asked for, and more standard equipment have made the line a viable choice.

“Ram has carved out a unique place in the pickup segment by breaking the mold of what a truck should offer,” said Dave Sullivan, a product analyst at AutoPacific Inc. “That has resonated with consumers.”

We’re pumped to see the Ram brand doing so well in such a competitive market!

Trucks of Steel: Ram Not Switching to Aluminum Anytime Soon

A hot topic right now is automotive makes switching to the use of aluminum as the main component for their pickup trucks. Well, Ram is not conforming to that popular transition anytime time soon as they look to keep making trucks of steel.

Aluminum is a lot of times used in smaller, sportier cars because of how lightweight the material is, and it has been that way for a little while now. Ford and General Motors, how competitors of the Detroit native, Ram, have already committed to start using that precious light metal for their trucks. Ford already has, and GM has announced they will begin to use it next year.

Ram, however, is not looking switch to aluminum until at least 2020. After all, steel has been a major player in the building of cars for decades and decades, why switch so all of a sudden? It is a more powerful metal and can withstand a beating, which is what we like to see if we go off-roading.

Trucks of Steel from Ram
As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” That’s why Ram is in no hurry to test out aluminum bodies on their trucks.

Don’t think for one second that this means the Ram truck that has now been named Truck of the Year for two consecutive years will get old. There is a plan to refresh the model in 2015 and looking to make even more improvements in 2017. Then, later on it may switch to aluminum… when it is good and ready.

Many of these trucks of steel are waiting for you right here at Corwin Dodge. Stop by today to see what the steel is doing for the already powerful Ram 1500.

Two-Way Split Tailgate from RAM

In case you haven’t heard the news, Ram Trucks are becoming ever-more popular among drivers. The Ram 1500 has recently been named as Truck of the Year for the second consecutive year, which has never been done before. Well, now they are patenting something that seems a bit radical, but will definitely be awesome! The two-way split tailgate from Ram is currently underway, and will help with a lot of functions.

Two-Way Split Tailgate
Just imagine this tailgate with a split down the middle and you will get an idea of what is to come.

Everybody should be familiar with how tailgates on trucks fold down to help with laborious tasks. Ok, now imagine if it could do that, as well as opening from the middle like double doors, and each “door” of the tailgate being able to fold out or down on its own as well.

Having the capabilities mentioned above, the tailgate will make it easier for loading and unloading cargo and will be able to support different shapes and sizes. Sometime you try to load a bed into a truck, but is just a few inches too big to close the tailgate. This means that you have to leave your tailgate down just for those few inches. Well, with the two-way split tailgate from Ram, you can fold one down, while the other stays up and supports other cargo. Perfect!

Bad news is that we don’t know when we can first expect that appearance of this new design in Ram trucks. In fact, we don’t even have all the information on their plans. So make sure you keep your eyes peeled for any more information about this tailgate style, and we here at Corwin Dodge Ram will do the same.
