Drury International Food Festival is Right Around the Corner

Every year at Drury University, the International Student Association hosts the Drury International Food Festival. It marks a time to explore familiar and unfamiliar food, culture, music, and performances. There is certain to be something new and surprising for everyone to enjoy; maybe you’ll discover a dish that becomes a new favorite or experience a performance that expands your perspective.

The event represents the diversity of cultures present on Drury University’s campus and invites students to share their cultures and traditions with other students and community members. As of 2017, approximately 13% of Drury’s student population comes from abroad, with 53 countries represented. The International Student Association recognizes the important diversity of backgrounds and contributions that such students bring to the university’s campus, so the event is not only meant to bring students and community members from different backgrounds together, but allow them to share their backgrounds, cultures, and food with one another and learn from one another. What better way to do so than to center the event around food, inviting others to eat your favorite cultural dishes at your table?

The Drury International Food Festival will take place this year on April 14th, and will be hosted on the University’s campus in the Findlay Student Center from 6-9pm. There is a small admission price for the event, but one we at Corwin CDJR think is well worth it: the event will be $10 for students and $15 for the general public.

Pile your family into your Ram to make traveling to the event all the more enjoyable; we’re sure it will be able to haul your satisfied, full bellies home.

Tips for Taking Road Trips in a Coupe

road trips in a coupe - corwin dodge ram blog

If you drive a small car or a sports coupe like the Dodge Challenger, road trips can be hard to execute—especially if you’re traveling with family. Sure, the Challenger provides exceptional driving fun, and you’ll love zooming across the country in it. But what about packing? Long-term comfort? Here are some tips for road trips in a coupe or small car.

First, understand that less is more, and that you don’t actually need to bring fifteen pairs of pants and a different shoe for every day of the trip. It can be tempting to take a “prepare for the worst” approach, but when you’re driving a coupe, you have to plan. Challengers have big spacious trunks, but you have to make room for a lot of stuff if you’re driving long-distance, so keep clothes to a minimum.

Utilize all the space you can in the car. If you’re traveling with just two other people, stick what you can in the backseat, and bring a cooler with drinks and snacks so you don’t get dehydrated. Keep essentials in reach like your kids’ favorite toys and a first aid kit.

Stop to walk around and switch drivers often to avoid driver fatigue and let everyone stretch their legs. In general, you want to make sure you have roadside assistance, have plenty of entertainment options for everyone, and use navigation services to avoid traffic jams and other problem spots.

We’re less than 100 days away from the 81st Annual Ozark Empire Fair and we could be more excited! The fair kicks off on July 27th and runs through August 5th and features a long list of attractions that everyone will enjoy. The Ozark Empire Fair has been going strong and boasts a reputation as a fun-filled family event everyone can enjoy!

The 81st Annual Ozark Empire Fair is being held in multiple locations, including the Corwin Dodge Arena in Springfield. Many of the usual events and displays, including the Life & Arts Department, will be in attendance.

The fair kicked off in the early 1900s as a way for artists to show off their handiwork. It wasn’t long after that a permanent location was established and a small admission fee became standard. By the 1940s, concession booths had to be booked early as the demand for display areas grew quickly. New car dealerships began to attend the show with the latest models on display.

The Life & Arts Department will have live demonstrations, cooking contests, educational exhibits, and much more! Stop by to see what’s in store for you at this year’s fair.

We here at Corwin Dodge Ram hope to see you at the 81st Annual Ozark Empire Fair this summer!
