While it has been 100 years since John and Horace Dodge created the Dodge Brothers Motor Car Company, their spirits still live on in a brand new Dodge ad campaign that is sure to take you back in time. Called “Ballroom—They Dreamed Big,” this new commercial spot for the 2015 Dodge Challenger is the first advertisement in a series that travels through time, back to the days when Dodge first began.
“Dodge has a very specific DNA, a bloodline that traces back to the Dodge brothers’ passion for making great cars,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer for Chrysler Group. “The new campaign captures the spirit of innovation and enthusiasm the Dodge brothers had when they founded the brand 100 years ago. Everything Dodge does today honors John and Horace Dodge’s legacy. Their spirit lives on through this campaign and the Dodge vehicles of today.”
The commercial focuses on an imaginary celebration of John and Horace’s success. During the rousing, flapper-filled party, a voiceover describes how the brothers came to create the car company, ending with a shot of the new 2015 Challenger revving its engine amongst two 1915 Dodge Touring cars.
