Every year at Drury University, the International Student Association hosts the Drury International Food Festival. It marks a time to explore familiar and unfamiliar food, culture, music, and performances. There is certain to be something new and surprising for everyone to enjoy; maybe you’ll discover a dish that becomes a new favorite or experience a performance that expands your perspective.
The event represents the diversity of cultures present on Drury University’s campus and invites students to share their cultures and traditions with other students and community members. As of 2017, approximately 13% of Drury’s student population comes from abroad, with 53 countries represented. The International Student Association recognizes the important diversity of backgrounds and contributions that such students bring to the university’s campus, so the event is not only meant to bring students and community members from different backgrounds together, but allow them to share their backgrounds, cultures, and food with one another and learn from one another. What better way to do so than to center the event around food, inviting others to eat your favorite cultural dishes at your table?
The Drury International Food Festival will take place this year on April 14th, and will be hosted on the University’s campus in the Findlay Student Center from 6-9pm. There is a small admission price for the event, but one we at Corwin CDJR think is well worth it: the event will be $10 for students and $15 for the general public.
Pile your family into your Ram to make traveling to the event all the more enjoyable; we’re sure it will be able to haul your satisfied, full bellies home.
