Gift Ideas for the Car Lover

Santa - Springfield, MO
These gifts will be great for any car lover!

Christmas will be here before you know it. Last minute shopping can be exciting, but sometimes you run out of time to find that perfect gift for that certain someone. Well, if that certain someone likes cars, you are in luck. We’ve thrown together some gift ideas for the car lover.

Dash Cam

Dash cams are incredible useful. Of course, they can really come in handy in the unfortunate event of an accident. This is particularly helpful if your loved one lives in a high traffic area. But they can also be fun on a road trip. To make an Oscar-worthy road trip movie, splice time-lapse sequences into it.

Driving Gloves & Aviator Shades

If the recipient of this potential gift likes to intimidate other drivers on the road, there’s probably no better way to do that than donning a slick pair of leather driving gloves and a pair of Aviator shades.

Mopar Stuff

There’s probably no better place to find a gift for your car lover than the Mopar apparel catalog. You can find great hats, fleeces and even handsome collared shirts there, all bearing the proud Mopar logo.

How to Protect Your Car in the Winter

winter - Springfield, MO
Don’t let winter wreak havoc on your car; protect it with the below tips!

If you think winter is hard on you, just think about your vehicle! All winter long, you take it out every day and expose it to the ice, the snow, the salt and that bitter cold. For those of you that would like to see your vehicle arrive in the spring relatively unscathed, here’s how to protect your vehicle in the winter.

  • Always use a brush to remove the snow from your car. You may be tempted to do it with a shovel when you are out shoveling the walk but you may end scratching the clear coat or even the paint.
  • Use the time between storms constructively. At the very least, take your vehicle through a car wash (only if it is a brushless wash). Or if you really care, find a do-it-yourself place. Washers there have the kind of pressure you need to really get that salt off.
  • Though it might be too late by the time winter rolls around, salt can worsen scratches and other damage to your vehicle’s clear coat. Use touch-up paint to fill in those spots before the salt gets in!
