Our hometown of Springfield is amazing, but come August 14th through the 16th, it’s about to get even better. The Route 66 Festival is making its return for the fifth year in a row. Officially titled the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival, there’s more to see this year than ever before. New events, more vendors, and live acts are just a short list of what the Route 66 Festival has to offer!
This year’s Route 66 Festival will last three days instead of two. New activities, like a parade and expanded vendor village, will be available to all. Other events include a two-day car and motorcycle show, two nights of concerts at the Gillioz Theatre, a drive-in movie, 6.6 mile run, and an entire conglomerate of Route 66 authors, artists, collectors, and more!
Live acts this year include the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Pure Prairie League (both of which are sold out for August 14th), and Cindy Woolf and Mark Bilyeu on August 15th.
“We’re excited about adding another full day of festivities to the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival,” said Cora Scott, director of public information and civic engagement, City of Springfield. “With the variety of activities and events, there will be something for everyone.”
We here at Corwin Dodge Ram can’t wait for the festivities to begin!
