Wounded Warrior Gets 2015 Dodge SRT Hellcat from Jay Leno on the Today Show

Last Wednesday, morning news viewers got a real treat when they watched television show host, comedian, and car enthusiast Jay Leno on the Today Show. That’s because funnyman Leno did something special: he gave a new car to a very deserving Cpl. Ethan Laberge, who was seriously injured while fighting in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber whose attack killed two of his fellow soldiers.

Laberge had been on foot patrol in Afghanistan when the suicide bombing occurred. Among other injuries, he suffered a serious brain injury causing him to have memory problems.

Laberge was chosen semi-randomly as a representative of all veterans to appear on the television program, where he met with the famous comedian. The two quickly bonded over their love of cars, and Leno allowed Laberge to take a drive in the hot new 2015 Dodge SRT Hellcat.

After a few trips and a quip that he wouldn’t mind having a Hellcat of his own, Leno handed Laberge the keys, saying, “America loves you. Thank you, buddy. Have a lot of fun. Don’t get any tickets.” Laberge jokingly replied that he couldn’t make that promise.

Tips for Driving Safely During Deer Mating Season

Deer Mating Season Driving Tips

Whatever your feelings may be on hunting, no one wants to see a dead deer on the side of the road, especially not one put there by your own vehicle. Deer mating season and deer hunting season cause for more deer to be scampering out onto the roads. As we have reached that time of year again, we at Corwin Dodge thought it would be a good time to share some of our tips for driving safely during deer mating season.

  1. Use your high beams. When driving at night, use your high beams whenever safe for vehicles around you. A deer’s eyes will reflect the light, alerting you to its presence and giving you more time to prepare for whatever sudden actions the deer may take.
  2. Look for more than one. Deer tend to travel in packs. If you see one deer on the side of the road, be prepared to see another.
  3. Don’t swerve. If you find yourself crossing paths with a deer in the road, try to slow down as much as you reasonably can. Do not swerve your vehicle into another lane as this could cause a more serious accident. There is no guarantee you will avoid the deer, but it could cause you to hit another vehicle.
  4. Leave the deer alone. If you, unfortunately, are unable to avoid hitting a deer, refrain from trying to move it to safety yourself. If the deer is still alive, it may become frightened by your good intentions and further injure itself or you. Instead, call the police for help in filing an accident report and properly removing the deer from the roadway.

During deer mating season, we would all be wise to remain alert to deer on the move and give ourselves as much time as we can to react appropriately.

Dodge Rocks Gas Monkey Event Sponsors Motley Crue’s Farewell Tour

Dodge Rocks Gas Monkey EventThe Dodge Rocks Gas Monkey event, which recently brought together rock and roll  and classic cars in Dallas,  featured an awesome performance by Motley Crue. The concert celebrated both the band’s partnership with Dodge (which is sponsoring the group’s farewell tour) and the automakers 100th anniversary. The event was open to pre-registered Doge vehicle owners, which resulted in the Dodge Rocks Gas Monkey event attracting over 1,000 Dodge cars, as people drove in for some classic music.   Billboard reports that die-hard Crue fan Tim Kuniskis, who also happens to be the Dodge President, said Motely Crue “’fits the brand perfectly,’ especially as Dodge moves from any family-friendly vehicles such as the Avenger sedan and Caravan minivan to becoming a ‘mainstream performance brand.””

The Dodge partnership with Motley Crue started in 2013 when their song “Kickstart My Heart” was used in the car company’s ad campaigns. When the automaker had to renew the partnership, the band’s managers told them about the farewell tour, which is how the partnership got started.

The sponsorship goes through the end of the North American Motley Crue Farewell Tour, which ends November 22nd. Kickstart your heart with a new Dodge like the 2015 Challenger or Dart from Corwin Dodge today!

Dodge Releases Charger Lineup Pricing for 2015 Model Year

Finding a high-performance car for a low price is similar to finding the Holy Grail—seemingly impossible. Now, though, Dodge has shown that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to, after announcing the 2015 Charger lineup pricing. Starting at just $27,995 for the base SE, the Charger lineup offers the dynamic performance you would expect from a muscle car for a significantly lower price.

“The Dodge Charger is a performance car that carves its own niche and cuts straight through the segments and perceptions of what a full-size sedan can or should be,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT. “With the new 2015 Charger, we’re pushing the boundaries of what a full-size sedan can or should be even further. We’ve seriously modernized the look and feel and added a standard eight-speed transmission across the lineup. The Charger is now tighter, leaner, and more athletic, without sacrificing proportions, performance, driving dynamics, attitude, and price that attracted customers in the first place.”

Charger Lineup Pricing
Pricing for all trims including the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T has been announced.

For that attractively low price, America’s only four-door muscle car offers a V6 engine that churns out 292 horsepower, mated with an eight-speed transmission that allows the car to still yield an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway. This price also includes a 5.0-inch Uconnect touchscreen and new 7-inch full-color driver information display—and the additional features just get better as the price increases.
