Dodge Durango Fuel Economy Improves in 2014

There’s really no areas in which the Dodge Durango isn’t vastly improved for 2014, including the Dodge Durango fuel economy numbers. With a 24 mpg rating on highway and 17 mpg in the city, the Durango posts high-class numbers for a seven passenger SUV. But, take it from us here at Corwin Dodge, the new Durango is impressive for many more reasons as well.

Let’s start with the powertrain options—Dodge offers a 3.6L Pentastar engine, a six-cylinder beast, standard on the Durango. The engine revs up to 290 horsepower and makes use of an eight-speed automatic transmission to keep a good grip on the roads while maxing out its power. However, you can feel free to upgrade to a 5.7L engine, a real behemoth that delivers huge numbers and huge loads of performance.

One of our favorite features of the 2014 Durango is the spacious interior. (And, no, despite how Ron Burgundy may try to pitch the Durango, we’re not talking about the glove compartment’s gum-holding potential.) Many vehicles can claim to seat up to seven people comfortably, but few follow through on that claim as completely as the Durango. From its aggressive exterior to its spacious interior to its balance of power and efficiency, the Durango is the perfect SUV for your whole family.

One important aspect of overall affordability doesn’t have to do with how much your car costs. It has to do with how much you can sell it for later. Last year Kelly Blue Book released the 2014 Best Resale Value Awards Top 10 and the Dodge Challenger resale value came in at number 10. There is one dealership that couldn’t agree more with this decision, and that is Corwin Dodge in Springfield, MO.

Each year KBB gives us the best resale value vehicles in each segment, but then they get even better with the best overall, limiting the winners down to 10, instead of more than 20. Not only do the top 10 beat out the other winners, but they beat out hundreds of other models competing for this award.

The Dodge Challenger resale value is predicted to be high for multiple reasons, but a main one is appeal. It takes the old muscle car look that we saw in the ‘60s and ‘70s and combines it with new-age features and safety. Along with the beautiful look drivers and passengers can find a comfortable interior with tech-savvy parts and features.

While right now we are looking the Dodge Challenger resale value, taking the 2014 Dodge Challenger for a spin will also help you to make your decision. With its performance and smooth handling, there won’t be any looking back except to see the cars you are passing.

Dodge Chargers Recalled for Headlights – Chrysler Recall

Chrysler has recently announced that there will be 49,000 Dodge Chargers recalled for headlights that need fixed. These headlights need replaced because of a faulty connector that could overheat and knock out low-beam headlights.

Dodge Chargers recalled for headlights include the 2011 and 2012 models that are equipped with halogen headlamps. Luckily, this kind of recall is an easy fix. Just take it to your local dealer and they will replace the headlight wiring, bulbs, and assemblies.

Of the 49,000 Chargers being recalled here is a breakdown of where they are:

–          43,450 in the United States

–          2,850 in Canada

–          375 in Mexico

–          2,700 in countries outside of North America

CBS Detroit had this to say in there article about the recall, “Canadian safety regulators say the problem could compromise driver visibility and lead to a crash. But Chrysler says it knows of no crashes or injuries. The problem is similar to one that led to a 2012 recall of Charger police cars.”

So, if you have a 2011 or 2012 Dodge Charger, then make sure you bring it in to see what needs to or does not need to be fixed. You wouldn’t want that headlight to go out when you are driving somewhere!
